Sending his newly completed opera [List und Zufall], saying that although the public may hold some prejudice against the librettist, Stägmayr [i.e. Matthäus Stegmayer], Süssmayr nevertheless flatters himself that the work will provide as happy an evening as that of the first evening of his first ballet, Die Zauberschwestern, adding that owing to the present state of his health he cannot personally prepare the cast, but that Josef Weigl has offered to make the necessary arrangements so that the opera can be put on the stage, etc.
